Rocketship Public Schools is a nonprofit charter school with its headquarters in Redwood City, California. The school was founded in 2006 by John Danner and Preston Smith. The first school was opened in 2007 over at San Jose in California. The students from this school score as well as students from Palo Alto School District in the California’s state assessment. The school also hosts low income family students. The school has opened 6 additional schools at San Jose. Danner left in 2013 leaving Smith as the chief executive officer. During the same year, August, they opened another school this time outside California in MKE, Wisconsin. In 2014 they opened a school in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2016, they started another zone in Washington DC where the school offers preschool in with Apple Tree Institute.
Andre Agassi’s Turner Agassi fund has funded Rocketship facilities a couple of times. Agassi, a former tennis pro, also helped launch Rocketship Rise Academy over at Washington D.C. Reed Hastings, chief executive officer of Netflix, and donated $2million for the growth of Rocketship Bay Area. Obama administration also donated $2million for the growth and development of Rocketship. In the years that have followed it has continued to receive donations to aid in its growth and to open up more schools.
Rocketship is a chain of free, public k-5 college prep k-5 charter schools. By 2012, the school had five schools at San Jose region and an average of about 450 students per school. About 90% of the students get free lunch, 75% speak English as a second language. The motto of the school is “at Rocketship, we believe that every child deserves an excellent education, that every child can attend a four year college and that the path to college starts in kindergarten”

Equatia [standford developed, open world, role playing adventure game focused on math fact fluency] and i-Ready curriculum for math and reading in grade k-8].
