Edgard Corona: Author, Speaker and Innovation Management Consultant

Edgard Corona is a proud author, speaker and innovation management consultant. He helps companies in the US and Latin America to innovate their business models by means of creativity, design thinking, gamification and data mining. Edgard has been the CEO of SmartFit Inc., one of the first companies that developed digital fitness technology for health clubs, since 2009. He is also co-founder and director of Bio Ritmo Digital Health Co. where he develops innovative wearable technologies for Parkinson’s Disease patients with his team members at MIT Media Lab.

Edgard Corona has written two books about gamification in Spanish. The first one is “La Era del Jugador” that was published in 2009 and the second one is called Gamificación: el Arte de Motivar, Estrategia y Mejorar la Gestión con Juegos Digitales”, that has been published in 2015. Edgard started his career as a sales representative for Sony PSP handheld videogames at his first company, Gamecorp. He was the business analyst at Hitachi Data Systems for one year since 1999 and then joined IBM as CRM Marketing manager where he worked for two years. Later on Edgard worked as Product Manager for Tyco SimplexGrinnell and IT Consultant at Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF).

In 2002 he decided to create his own company and started SmartFit Inc. together with three partners, Eduardo Sainz de la Maza, Coordinator of MBA Programs at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Santa Fe in Mexico City; Carlos Alberto Rojas, former Marketing and Sales manager at Ford and Nissan in Mexico and the USA; and Víctor Manuel Gómez, CIO at Mexican branches of major organizations such as Procter & Gamble.

Edgard Corona obtained a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Santa Fe in Mexico City.
